The Role
very repetitive and lost motivation after 2 months of placement
Was given all the jobs that nobody else wanted and did not recieve feedback when asked for
Only met with my placement supervisor once a month and when I asked for feedback i was told to ask those i worked with in the lab as if my own supervisor did not know how i was getting on
varied from being too busy to too little
despite the negatives there was a lot of positive development taken from the placement such as the devlopment of my background scientific knowledge
The Company
busy and hectic some days and quiet other days. Was a lot of general conversation amognst colleagues as boys and girls were pretty much segregated at different ends of the lab
I did not have any structure to the placement and personal objectives were not set until mid way through the year
I was able to attend many training sessions based on leadershop skills etc.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Would not want to work there again
The Culture
despite good salary could not not find a cheap place to rent in cambridge so could not save much money
as cambridge is a student city the nightlife was very good but not the cheapest!
the social club held many events, such as quiz night and prize draws
