The Role
The work I was given was very varied and I did not have to do the same routine tasks every day. I was given responsibility from early on which made me feel more valued by the team. I also built up good relationships with my boss and the rest of the rail team and really enjoyed working the people in my office.
How busy I was varied on throughout the year. Some days/weeks I could be very busy if there was a deadline to meet, project to finish but other times there were less time pressures. There was always something that needed completing and sometimes I had to take my own initiative without being told exactly what to do.
I was given full projects to manage, for example organizing events and completing the re-vamp of our website.

The Culture
Living in the South of France was expensive but ERASMUS grants helped!
It is easy to get involved in sports clubs outside of work but the language barrier could be a problem for people who don't speak French.
