The Role
Was quite a shock to be thrown straight into the work, but once I got settled down it was very enjoyable and challenging.
I was treated like anyone else the entire time, everybody was extremely patient and very approachable. Better than I could have ever expected!
Any questions I had, there was always somebody willing to help me.
Initially I was kept quite busy, but given the time of the year it was, and a lot of team members were away on holiday etc., my final week was quite quiet.
Whilst supervised, naturally, I did a lot of actual client work and even given the opportunity to participate in a client meeting.
The teamwork skills I developed will definitely help in my final year and organisation of my time has drastically improved, no doubt helping for deadlines etc.
The Company
Everyone was very sociable and chatting with each other regularly, so most of the time everyone was in a good mood.
The training and schedules were very precise and well implemented, although the work I undertook was sometimes spur of the moment, or whenever it happened, which is what I expected.
They showed me a number of different programs used in the department, and over the six weeks I learned to use them very effectively.
They offered me a full-time position after I finished the internship!
The Culture
The main events for all students in the regional offices were incredible, very well planned and extremely generous. In the office, we often only socialised between departments at lunch.
I lived from home so my costs of living were minimal, and given the area, it's quite cheap generally.
Average, but I don't often engage in nightlife activities like clubbing.
There were a few, and we had an office sporting social event, but there are few teams because the office is quite small.
