The Role
This was a completely new working environment for me, so I was taking on new responsibilities and completing different tasks right up until the final day.
Each member of the team encouraged me to help out with their projects and appreciated the work I did for them, providing extremely valuable feedback along the way.
I was given guidance and support from Analyst all the way up to Partner level.
There was a healthy stream of work being given from different members of the team at all different levels, meaning that not only were my tasks broad and interesting, but also I had to work hard on my prioritisation and time management skills in order to achieve a 'Perfect Balance'.
All the responsibility one would expect at intern level but was also encouraged to get a feel for the level of work of an analyst.
Professionalism, time management, communication and effective planning are all skills that I significantly improved during my internship. These will be invaluable for a long time to come.
The Company
sometimes quiet, sometimes lively, but always a welcoming and productive atmosphere.
The structure of the internship with the induction event, Buddy/Counsellor scheme, Partner Shadow Day and final event was excellently thought out and excellently executed.
Beyond meetings with my Counsellor about my personal development every other week, the lunch and learn sessions and even meetings arranged by my colleagues contributed significantly to my personal progress.
Company Parties/Events
Within a week of finishing my internship I was offered a graduate job.
The Culture
There were various social events, some even arranged by the Partner, which I was encouraged to attend and at which I felt very welcome.
In Edinburgh when the Fringe Festival is on isn't cheap but easily affordable and a lot of fun.
Great city at the best time of the year, couldn't have been better.
Plenty to do within the City and there was even opportunities to get involved in with other members of the team.
