The Role
I found it incredibly enjoyable and beneficial. It showed me how to perform in this type of industry and that I do want to pursue this career choice. The team was fantastic and most of the rest of the business were brilliant too.
I felt like I fitted in straight away and was warmly welcomed by the whole team.
The management changed half way through the placement which was not ideal. However, this is a characteristic of life in the real world so was a good example of that also. The ideas of the management changed a little and the workload changed but support was there and guidance was acceptable.
Most of the time, things were just about right. Towards the end of the placement when the analysis work had thinned out, I would have preferred more of it coming in but I always found things to do.
For the duties that I was given, I had a lot of responsibility but I also made sure I was given plenty and asked for more.
I have increased my knowledge in this area. I have found a good topic to write my final dissertation on. I have made a solid friend for life. I have found my career choice.
The Company
The team was very friendly and all got on really well. We all worked very well together. Morale was fairly high.
We had a long takeover from the previous students and received great training. Communication was very good.
I was given a lot of 'on the job' training although I would have liked some additional training for SAS etc. Extra stats training was provided which was very good.
I would love to come back and work here.
The Culture
The team liked their social events although my circumstances did not allow me to join in on many.
Not bad but I remained at home to raise my family so nothing changed for me.
I cannot really comment on this as I didn't see the nightlife due to my family commitments.
There were a few opportunities but not many that I could partake in.
