The Role
From the first to last day all aspects of the internship were enjoyable.
I was treated as a normal member of staff, both from the work given to me and also the personal relationships I made.
No question was too trivial, and I was given step-by-step guidance for whichever task I required help with.
Some days were quieter than others, however it is up to you to ensure if you do not have enough work that you get some more; there's always something to be doing!
I was treated as a graduate student, and given responsibility as such.
My commercial awareness, and more practical skills such as use of excel and other software, improved greatly.
The Company
It was a good mixture between getting the work done, but also having a laugh whilst doing so.
The induction week introduced you to both the firm and your service line, and left you prepared to start work the following week.
There wasn't much else the firm could do to help me improve; they helped me every step of the way.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Brilliant; got offered a graduate job in September 2014 which I will be taking.
The Culture
From events the firm put on, to events interns organised themselves, there was always something to be doing.
As you would expect in central London, it was expensive. You soon got to know the cheaper places to go however.
It's London.
You could do sports, mentoring, CSR etc...a lot to get stuck in to.
