The Role
Fantastic placement with lots of opportunities to further develop yourself professionally. With an Internal Professional Development Manager assigned to each intern.
It is a corporate environment, but on the whole everybody was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great sense of community between the Interns, as well as a feeling of value from senior management.
Each intern is assigned a Task Manager and a Professional Development. Their programme operates to get the most out of their interns but for the interns to get the most out of their experience.
There were incredibly busy periods which required long hours, and other periods off peak which were normal working hours (9-5).
I was part of a two-man team and had responsibility for sales and budgets. Very hands on!
Everyone was commented on the fact that IBM is on my CV!
The Company
IBM are favourable of home working, so I wasn't always in an office environement, but when I was it was quiet.
Very well structured with clear instruction throughout.
Completely! With 2, 4, 6 and 12 month reviews.
Flexi Time
Working from home
A great company, but my professional area in events isn't available as a graduate and with very limited marketing places also.
The Culture
I was in a remote location, with home working and part of a very small scene, so I missed out on a lot of the social scene after the first couple of months. My role was also very demanding to meet the needs of the business.
Rarely socialised in the local area, but it was average when I did.
No nightlife in my location.
Opportunities were advertised but none which took my fancy.
