The Role
Best choice I've made since choosing to go to University
Placement role is a fixed role, so carries a large amount of responsiblity. The team really appreciate the work I did
Regular catch-up meetings, along with on the job teaching were a great way to deal with the steep learning curve
Grant Thornton promote the perfect work load balance
Very high level of responsiblity given - as the Placement role is integral to the team
Vital - without this experience I feel I would definitely struggle to draw on life experiences outside university when looking for Graduate roles
The Company
Great balance between focussed on work, and socialising. Intra-office events really helped promote a good atmosphere
Two week handover period with previous Placement student helped me get up to speed with the role. Also starting the placement in July where the workload was less was a great way to ease me in throughout the year
Colleague from different cities came to my office to give me a training day. I felt that showed a lot of commitment. Also Grant Thornton paid for my Certificate in Financial Planning, consisting of five exams. Which I took throughout the year
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Would be happy to work at Grant Thornton in the future
The Culture
Social commity does very well to get the whole office, no just the placement students, to socialise
Fair-value for money
Oxford is a great city to go out in, what with the two Universities. Buzzing!
Oxford Young Professional Sociery amongst many others
