The Role
First weeks-a month were very tough as there was alot to take in and learn but I assume this applies to most jobs. Was provided with some incredible training and social experiences opportunities from the start.
Incredibly warm welcome from the first day.
As I was working in 3 different areas I technically had 3 seperate managers, so there was an abundance of guidance if anything.
If I wasn't busy enough there was always an option to ask for work either personally or through a fortnighly meeting. Similarly if I was struggling with work and deadlines managers were very understanding.
Obviously everything is checked by managers or peers before submission however I was given alot of freedom and responsibility.
I think that the experiences and knowledge I have received will help me throughout life no matter what line of work I choose to work in.
The Company
Key point here is that managers and senior staff are all personable and arent afraid to embarras themselves or let their hair down.
At times there was little work available however that is due to seasonality and deadlines rather than GT as a company.
As mentioned earlier the opportunites for training and personal development are unparralelled.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
From what I have heard retention is incredibly high with placement students, however I am not yet at the end of my contract so I can't confirm.
The Culture
If you can afford the city lifestyle there is always an event or occasion to celebrate.
I lived at home and commuted in for the year so bar the train expenses it was very economic.
Excellent.
Currently involved in two activites helping high schoolers with maths and helping at career fairs, and there are plenty more options available.
