The Role
The work was really enjoyable and challenging, but very motivational and inspiring. It was a the perfect opportunity to expand my soft and technological skills.
We worked in a team from the very beginning and the atmosphere at work was amazing.
We were given excellent support and guidance by management. Every question we had or worry, we could directly address it to them and the answer would be provided very quickly.
This was dependent on the day. Certain days were more busy than others especially before a deadline.
Our team was given full control of the direction of the project. We were faced with a problem and received guidance from our mentors and stakeholders.
The skills I acquired during this summer placement will definitely help in my final year at university and my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere was great. It definitely helped that we were all friends and lived in the same place for the summer.
The organisation of the internship was really good. We always knew what the plans were for the next weeks so we could organise our work easily.
We received all the training required to achieve our final deliverable.

Working from home
IBM is a really good company to work for. Its history and international status puts it in one of the top companies in the world.
The Culture
All the interns lived together and this lead to a good social scene.
The accommodation was provided by IBM, but the cost of living was quite high as Winchester is quite an expensive city.
Winchester is a very small town with a few pubs and bars. We usually went to Southampton for a night out.
The Club House offered quite a few clubs and societies you could easily join. Also, there were tennis courts available at work and at our accommodation.
