The Role
I really enjoyed my time at IBM - The start was a bit of a struggle as my role was a new one and was literally what I made of it, but it helped me get stuck in with the business and my role within my team.
I was always made to feel valued by my colleagues and reminded that the work I did constantly assisted the team in different ways.
My team/managers were always available to provide support and guidance - wether it was professional or personal at times. My manager would go as far as to offer her mobile number as a point of contact when she was away on holiday in case I needed it.
Most days were a perfect balance with a couple days where I just had nothing to do. However this was more to do with the time of year (Christmas or summer holidays) where most colleagues/clients were out of office.
I wouldn't go as far as to say I was running the show but I was given a fair bit of responsibility during my placement with my team trusting me to run certain tasks myself and providing me with help if required.
So far the organisation and time management I've learnt from my placement year has been very helpful in prioritising work at university.
The Company
The atmosphere was fun due to the fellow placement students based in the same location as me. but other than that I was based in touchdown for a majority of the year which wasn't particularly fun.
The organisation for everything that occurred during the placement year was done very well.
As I was a gap year student I wasn't particularly given specific training for anything.
Flexi Time

Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I would definitely consider working with the organisation again.
The Culture
Yes!
As for the cost of living I'm sot sure - as I lived at home and travelled in everyday. Socialising in the area was a bit expensive but considering that we were based in Southbank (Central London) thats the typical price that could be expected.
Of what i've heard it sounded good - not really my thing
There were many opportunities to get involved in activities.
