The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Capco! From Day 1 I felt like a valued member of the team and it was a great place to work. The work I completed was challenging yet rewarding however by far the best thing about my internship was team I worked in who were so supportive .
Straight away I was heavily involved and treated no differently to any other member on the team. I could see how the work I completed contributed to the project I was working on and as a consequence felt very valued by my colleagues.
For me, the level of support was ideal. As an intern you are responsible for the work you are allocated and trusted to complete it, whenever I needed help it was there. The learning curve at Capco was steep, particularly within the first few weeks and on occasion I did feel like I could have benefited from a little more supervision.
My days at Capco were very busy. There was always work to do and on occasion I would work late to help out the team. However it was made very clear that I wasn't expected to. I would always have ample time for lunch and if I felt like I had too much on I would just let whoever had set me the work know and it wasn't a problem.
During my time at Capco I was given as much responsibility as any other member on my team. I didn't feel like an intern or felt like I was given any special treatment.
The skills I learned and developed at Capco are already translating into a higher level of academic performance. My attention to detail, efficiency and ability to tackle problems drastically improved during the internship.
The Company
The atmosphere at Capco was special! There was a real friendly team feel to the whole office, within my first week I had been introduced to most of the staff who were throughout genuinely interested in how I was getting on.
I felt the organization of my particular placement could have been improved slightly. The training week was fantastic but being placed with a client wasn't so seamless.
I was encouraged to attend training and completed a interesting workshop on 'Strategic thinking'. In terms of personal development I had a weekly meeting with my manager, for more project related development. I also met regularly with my coach where we would talk more generally about how I felt I was developing. Before I had even started I was assigned a 'Buddy' who I asked any questions I had before joining. This made the integration really easy.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I am confident of my chances of being successful with an application to the graduate program.
The Culture
Capco has a fantastic social scene. I would often attend events after work with colleagues including boxing classes, circuit training and football.
It was what I expected for central London.
Being located near Shoreditch was ideal.
If you want get involved with an activity within Capco there will be someone who does it and if not you are encouraged to set it up. For example there are yoga classes, a ski trip, a cycling club and many more.
