    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was really good, everyone became a family and you knew that everyone could sympathise with you over the tasks at hand as they all had to do the same. Every job was different and challenging, I certainly grew as a result!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It sounds a bit cliché but as a team we were very close, even in other branches you would forge relationships and when it finally came to meeting them it was as if you'd known each other for a very long time.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Trained formally at intervals throughout the year but everyone pitched in to guide and support from management to colleagues. They were always there for you especially in times when you thought things were too tough!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a lot of work! Sometimes I didn't get to finish a project that I was on in the 10 hours each day the branch was open but this was expected and it helped to develop my speed and effectiveness. It is an unfair scale I have to rate this upon because a lot of the time it was so hectic but it just made the time fly, I wouldn't say it was balanced as they makes it sound like a casual stroll through the work when in reality I had to push myself every day to learn more, do more and keep up efficiency.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • There were times when management would hand over the reigns and let you run the day, this happened multiple times while I was on my placement. Even in times when you aren't running the entire branch we would be given tasks to look after for a month or more at a time with the idea that it was your task and you would find a way to help improve the figures.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There was so much to learn and I believe I have kept the majority if not all of those skills, However a lot of it was tailored around Enterprise and the way it operates, This isn't a bad thing though! As far as management training goes I believe I could quite comfortably manage a team of people in the future no matter how stressful the environment

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We always had fun in the job very rarely a dull moment but when the busy period set in you could sometimes feel the stress behind the scenes even if we never allowed the customers to feel that stress.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship itself faultless, there were however a few issues in the sense that my transferral from one branch to another could have been handled a lot more efficiently rather than a couple days before saying I am moving, This wasn't so much an issue as I was happy to move about but whereas everything before seemed to be either consultative or mentioned plenty of time in advanced this was thrown upon me costing me extra in fuel! Also at times it could seem too hectic in branch when things got too busy.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The training sessions, both formal and informal, were one of the best aspects! You learn so much and do it in groups of people who start off at the same time as you. You feel you learn a lot but never too much at once and you know it all goes towards you as a manager as well as helping the company gain more.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was offered a job upon my completion of university.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I didn't really get to see any other interns but that is the point of Enterprise, you are just another member of the team and it won't always become apparent that you are an intern or not until you start talking about going back to university. As a team though we did meet up after work on occasions, there could have been more but it was good! I still see some people even now.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Derby is fairly cheap but I do not see how this question relates to the placement.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Again I don't see the relevance to the job itself, Derby has little nightlife but that does not in anyway affect Enterprise or the job itself/

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • You could volunteer with Enterprise who help strengthen our communities one neighbourhood at a time!

    5/5
