The Role
It was challenging due to feeling bored and as if my skills were not put in to use, however I enjoyed working with the team and for the company.
I felt valued at most times by my colleagues.
I felt I was initially given little support from my line manager, however when a new line manager joined I was given a vast amount of support and guidance from this person.
I was bored on a regular basis at the time, feeling I had very little to do, which was often very frustrating.
I was given varying levels of responsibility during my placement - initially a little, then a significant amount over a 3 month period, and now what I would say is average given my grade and role.
My time at Arup has provided me with foundation skills in many areas such as Finance and IT that will assist me in my future career.
The Company
Initially dull, with very few people socialising and high stress levels from the group leader.
Little structured training, but fair induction.
Little structured training, but fair induction. Do not felt invested in.
Not very appealing - plan to leave shortly.
The Culture
Fair social scene - would have liked to have had the chance to meet other students/graduates.
London - enough said!
Very good!
Some sports and social clubs/ events - good opportunities.
