The Role
Great job that taught me a lot about running my own business and working with others in a successful team.
We all worked in a close team to get things done. If we hadn't then we would not have succeeded. I was always included in everything and given valuable job roles to complete throughout the branch.
The assistant managers and branch manager were always looking out for me and wanting to help me in every way possible. If I ever had a problem then I could turn to them.
Working in an airport meant that I was busy whenever flights were landing which at Luton was all day every day. I never really had a moment to feel bored or without anything to do, and that suited my personality as I learn and do things better by practising.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility throughout my branch as I was given certain tasks to work on and certain accounts to look after. I headed up one of the most important parts of the income/outflow of the branch and that was left down to me to control.
It helped me greatly in a variety of ways, not only at university but in my future career. I am one day looking to start my own business, and to be part of a company that actively promotes entrepreneurship and doing things for yourself, then I could have asked for any better. I have learnt a great deal of on the job skills that means I can look critically at more theories at university, and feel I will achieve a better grade because of it,
The Company
Everyone was very friendly all the time and I couldn't have asked for any more. There were a few times where you had angry customers in the office, but if you know how to handle them then they can leave happy and the office can continue to be a great environment to work in.
I would have like to move to more places throughout my placement to experience different sides of the business, however the placement itself was set up very professionally and it is a well established programme within the company.
Throughout my year I was always attending training courses that helped me achieve and succeed as a better placement student. There was a structured 9 month training guide that helped me through different stages, and at the end there was a final interview to show that you have completed your training and are ready to become a manager.

Most people that undertake a placement within the company are set up for a job when they leave university. The company is always growing and as long as you communicate well with your managers, then they will be welcoming you back in a more advanced managerial role when you are ready.
The Culture
There were not that many placement students in my office for most of the time as you have a small team of 7-8. on occasion there were times that I was working with other placement students, however with the tema that I was part of it didn't matter whether there were other placement students around or not. There was always a great social atmosphere within the office and we organised social events outside of the office on many occasions.
I lived at home, and at Enterprise anyone can do that if they wish as there is a branch near everyone. The area I worked within was not cheap as it was close to London, however it was not too expensive, and the salary made it possible to enjoy my time working there.
There was not much of a nightlife scene in the area I worked, and I didn't really want to go and experience it. Living at home meant that I could go to the places that I knew in my area and enjoy the well known amenities.
There was always a chance to take part in activities outside of work, and the company actively promoted it. If somebody wants to work in a specific area of the country with a lot of outside activities, then they can apply there and enjoy it just as much. There are endless offices and places to apply.
