The Role
I had a fantastic time, felt like a valued employee and worked on diverse projects.
I was trusted to carry out work and felt respected during meeting and discussions.
My supervisor was always available to explain things to me, even when he was under pressure to complete his own work.
Mostly I was very busy with lots of tasks to complete. Occaisonally I had to wait to receive more work.
The majority of the time I was doing important work that wasn't always checked before submitting to the client. I was trusted to work to a high standard.
I will be able to utilise the new skills I developed on the placement for my final two years. I also have an understanding of subjects that will be covered in the future curriculum.
The Company
Relaxed atmosphere, everybody friendly and chatty. Casual wear and team meetings on Fridays with lots of cake and biscuits!
I had work ready for me to do from the first day. I had a computer with emails, phone etc set up when I arrived.
I was given many different tasks on lots of projects. I was also allowed on several site visits.
I would really hope to gain employment from this company, I will seek to continue the relationship through a placement next summer.
The Culture
I went mountain biking with two colleagues after work. I also went to a local restaurant at lunchtime, including for my leaving do.
I stayed at home and commuted by train to the office.
Manchester night-life!
Several lunchtime presentations that I was invited and encouraged to go to.
