The Role
Had a great time the whole year!
Although I was the youngest person in the office, everyone was very inclusive and friendly. I got on with everyone really well and felt like a valuable member of the team.
Support from my manager was top class, always available for a chat and made sure I was comfortable and had no concerns.
Some days I was very busy, others I had a bit of spare time.
I was responsible for reports that were sent to both Corporate and very senior managers.
Training provided was quite basic, but still insightful. My confidence has grown a lot and that's what I will take away most.
The Company
In an small office, and a small team the atmosphere was sometimes superficial as you had people who wouldn't normally interact with each other being forced to. At the same time everyone seemed friendly but the atmosphere could be quite tense at times.
The scheme was set up well, my year was hampered as we had 3 different HR leaders during the year, so it was quite difficult to communicate with them as they hadn't really got to know us.
We had about 4-5 different training courses.
Was offered a job at the end of the year
The Culture
There was only 2 placement students on our site, but we got on well and socialised.
We lived in quite an expensive area, but it wasn't so bad after payday!
Good nightlife.
Nothing to do with work, we did get involved with a few external clubs.
