The Role
It was an interesting department with a busy atmosphere which i enjoy working in.
The colleagues were very friendly and made me feel very welcome.
During the begining of my internship i was quite bored, but it picked up towards the end when i really started to enjoy it!
The Company
Everyone was helpful and made sure i could access everything i needed (printers/data systems ect).
It was quite well organised. To begin with it did feel as if i had just been dumped into a department and left to it, but this was mainly due to my line manager leaving just as i started. Following the appointment of a new manager, i felt like the placement had more structure.
I was able to attend a safegaurding course which i enjoyed.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Many of the graduates onthe internship (including myself) have now got into the graduate scheme, while otheres have got other paid positions within the council.
The Culture
The group of graduates often meet up to go for meals, play sports and for drinks on a friday, so making friends with fellow placement students was easy!
The cost of living is good, shrewsbury is a cheap place to live considering how pretty it is!
There are a variety of bars and clubs in Shrewsbury, and the graduates do organise staff nights out from time to time.
yes, the 'shropshire professional network' organised a vareity of events which i attended.
