About You
I was able to work on a wide range of projects allowing me to gain an insight on to the work that Arup do.
I felt valued because they gave me lots of different jobs making me feel part of the team.
Everyone was always helpful when I asked for help and always gave me briefs before I started work.
I learned to use new programs and different computer skills which will be valuable in the future
The Company
I felt that I was doing work most of the time, however I would have preferred if they had planned my work instead of asking for jobs.
I enjoyed working there everyday as there was a friendly atmosphere which made it a fun place to work in,
They invested a lot in me as I was able to help with important projects and I was trusted and valued which made me want to work as hard as possible.
It helped me to see the development of projects and how the employees work with others to successfully finish a project which helped me to gain an insight on the company.
I learned a lot about the company and the way in which they worked as there was an introductory meeting to understand how the company operates and there were web pages in the internal website which enabled me to research information on the company.
Before I started work at the engineering firm, I was not going to study engineering at university, but now I am applying to study it at university as I enjoyed working there so much.
Everything Else
I was paid to work there which was an added bonus and they paid a very reasonable wage.
There was a meeting set up with people from other departments and I was able to learn about other aspects of the company.
I was invited to company social events and other events which enabled me to talk to other employees and gain an insight into their work.
Yes there are many activities such as sports teams like football and netball. Furthermore during my placement there was a company sports run which many people were involved in.
I would recommend working at Arup to all my friends as it was a valuable and enjoyable experience.
