The Role
The programme led me through from the very beginning, allowing me to get on track and perform as quickly as possible. People I worked with were very kind, and everyone (including peers) gladly helped each other.
I could put in my own ideas where applicable, and my manager and colleagues valued my contribution.
My supervisor gave me appropriate level of work as I gradually improved my skills, and whenever I found some tasks difficult, he gladly spared time to help me. We had a regular meeting to keep track of the progress.
I felt I had enough amount of work most of the time, sometimes quite busy. Because of the nature of some tasks, I sometimes felt that there was not much to do, but this was only occasionally.
I was given a pretty much full responsibility as an employee, and did not feel like being left out just because I am an intern.
I had improved various soft skills, and also technical knowledge that helped me on further studies
The Company
People were interacting with each other actively.
The whole programme was very well-organised, so that interns were able to learn as much as they can while also having fun in the events (e.g. networking, sporting)
They provided a thorough financial learning materials, and some of the topic discussions on new technologies, such as Big Data.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I was fortunate to secure a place during the internship, and will be going back to them.
The Culture
Everyone got along very well, and are still in contact after the placement.
Certainly, being in London could make things a little expensive, but maybe because I live in London anyway, cost for living and socialising did not seem too much.
For me it was certainly good enough.
There were many volunteering, social, sport activities that interns as well as permanent employees could participate. In addition, there were intern-specific events that involved many people from various divisions.
