The Role
It was enjoyable to get experience in the working world, however I didnt feel that I was given the full opportunity to use all my knowledge in my fields.
The collegues were friendly and welcoming. They offered a lot of social oppurtunities and would try and help wherever they could
The team I was working in was undergoing a lot of changes when I arrived, therefore I was not given a direct supervisor until nearly a 1/4 of the way through my placement.
The work came and went very sporadically. Some days I was snowed under, others I had very little to do.
We had responsibility for a lot of paperwork, but anything technical had to be passed on to our superiors.
Similarly there was not a huge amount of oppurtunity to develop technical skills or knowledge.
The Company
There were a number of resignations within my first few months, which dropped moral. But in all other aspects it was good.
The internship worked pretty much as a permanent job, where there were certain tasks key to the business function.
To some extent, we were required to set up 5 goals and objectives of which halfway through my internship i had to pick 2 which i wanted to focus on.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
I would potentially reapply following completion of my degree.
The Culture
There are numerous intern nights out and meals, as well as sports clubs!! :)
Cardiff city, lots of students. Cheap rent, cheap pubs!!
Cardiff city, lots of students, lots of nights out!
There is a lot of charity work oppurtunities as well as a lot of sports and social clubs organised in wolrk.
