The Role
A strugle and tough challenge, however, I am very grateful for the exposure and skills I have learnt throughout. Although there was much in the way of firefighting, heated conversations, politics, I would always have help and support. It has thoroughly opened my eyes to the world of manufacturing industry, and by far made me a better person through-and-through in industry, giving me confidence to tackle any following interviews head on.
Incredibly freiendly staff, no matter whom they would try and help me or point me in the right direction. I felt a part of the team/family as soon as I entered my role. Can hardly fault.
I had no intern to take over from and had no supervisor, in fact I was straight in as an acting supervisor. Therefore support and guidance was limited. Saying that, I am glad for the challenge and exposure, and there would always be someone there for me to talk to
Overall kept at a good busy pace.
I was straight in as an acting supervisor for 3 teams!!!
Engineering and university skills wise: Medium Work Skills: Incredibly high
The Company
Generally a good atmosphere, although morale tended to be low at times, but due to our passion for the job and when external factors impede.
Had no one to take over from, or shaddow me, or train me, let alone materials. However, again, the experience was invaluable.
Was given no external or recognied training, however, that is not too relevant to my role. Nevertheless, I was able to visit other GE Sites
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
I would definitely accept a job offer
The Culture
A good social set-up with regular events
Incredibly cheap compared to Central London (where I go uni) !
A city, so very decent (but nothing compared to C. London)
Many, a small capital city with vast amounts to do in such a little area (easy travel, even by foot).
