About You
A very well structured week, useful to gain a basic understanding of the banking industry and of the company's structure. You really get a feel of what it would be like to work there and whether going for an internship is something for you.
All of the senior people we met were interested in what we had to say and willing to answer event the most tedious questions. We felt like we were part of something which was developing and would become the future of the company.
The staff was always willing to help both on the content of the sessions and on the logistics of the events. We never felt like we didn't know where to go or who to ask for guidance.
The main focus was on presentation, analytical, and teamwork skills which are always useful.
The Company
We knew the programme of the whole week since the beginning and always received guidance during the day. The various events were well integrated.
We had various social events during the week but also shared accommodation with other interns, so it was pretty enjoyable
A lot. We had some training events by professional staff but really all events were designed to give us something useful.
The work shadowing sessions were really useful to see what people actually do on a daily basis and to find out about the different roles. Moreover, several events were design to give an overview of the company's structure and of the available roles so that we knew what kind of opportunities there are.
The core values of the company are something that every employee stresses a lot and you really get to know them and appreciate their importance by the end of the week.
The many events regarding available roles and the company structure helped to gain a clear understanding of the firm. The work shadowing sessions allowed for a more in-depth insight into the possible career paths.
Everything Else
I was offered free accommodation and paid expenses, more than enough to do whatever I wanted to do.
Almost every event was held by people working for the company, lots of employees would come along to social events and three shadowing sessions completed the picture to the extent that by the last day we had really no question left to ask.
Social events were quite enjoyable and allowed us to meet with interns from all other departments
There are lots of groups inside the company that are focused on stuff which isn't strictly related to work. These allow employees to pursue other interests and meet people who share those interests.
A great way to find out whether the industry and the company suit you and vice versa. Even if you don't like the banking industry or end up not working for them, it's a very enjoyable and useful experience.
