The Role
It was an amazing company to work for and the working environment was somewhere that I enjoyed coming into every morning.
Everyone was so welcoming from the day I started, especially my team members. Most people from outside the area I worked within Nestle were also extremely kind and treated me like I was an employee rather than a student.
My mentor was excellent and I could always go to them for help or if I was needing some more work to do. My line manager was brilliant too, always giving me advice and help when needed.
There could have been a bit more work for me to do as some days I wasn't very busy, this is definitely something that needed to be improved and I expressed this to my mentor.
I was given a lot of responsibility from managing an emergency phone to planning trips down to Gatwick to give presentations. I felt extremely responsibility and a real member of the team.
100% my skills have developed for the better. I was told on my end of year review how I have grown from when I started and I believe I can use these new skills for future jobs and in my life.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was professional but also an enjoyable one.
As mentioned before it would have been ideal to have more work on during my placement but the whole placement was brilliant and the work that I was involved in was organised.
I set my objectives at the start of the year and overcame them all, for example I wanted to improve on my presentation skills so I was given plenty of chances to do this and was given the opportunity to travel to Gatwick on my own to present.

The Culture
Socialised outside of work on a regular occurrence and not just with the placement students, the team made every effort to attend work nights out or lunches!
I lived at home during my placement (Leeds) so the petrol cost was high and I would stay at one of the placement students house in York if I was to go out with them one evening.
Had some fun nights in York town.
As I lived in Leeds during the placement and had my social life back at home too I tended to go straight home after work.
