The Role
Very fun, interesting, varied. I enjoyed the travelling and working with people across the company.
Very friendly manager and colleagues.
Very well supported. Travel expenses and hotel rooms were arranged without a problem and always taking into account my needs.
Varied from day to day depending on whether I was travelling between offices or having project meetings or video conferences with other interns, HR or my manager.
To a large extent I was responsible for what I did and which office I worked in.
Very good experience for 'and beyond'. Less so for my degree studies.
The Company
I worked in 5 different offices. Each with a different 'general atmosphere', all very friendly.
On the whole very well. One or two glitches.
Interns had excel, powerpoint and presentation and personal impact training.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Quite appealing if you are looking for a company that is successful and growing, has a professional and enjoyable working environment and reasonable working hours.
The Culture
There were only 7 interns and I did a lot of travelling and wasn't actually based in London so I did miss out a few things.
I was based in Colchester but only spent half my time there. Whenever I was away from Colchester I received a £25 allowance for food and that covered most of the cost of living and socialising. I rented a room in Colchester for 9 weeks (even though I only slept there for around 30 nights) which cost £750 and included food.
Colchester had a fair bit going on for a smaller place, Manchester was good, London was expensive, York was quiet and Glasgow was okay.
Aside from company drinks, teams meals or parties there wasn't much.
