The Role
It could be very social at times - fantastic xmas party, great department socials. However, away jobs really depended on who/how many people were in the team - there were a lot of boring nights stuck in random hotels on my own, but other times it could be really fun so it evened itself out in the end.
Generally, I did feel like a valued member of the team.
I didn't feel particularly valued by management,
This varied quite a lot. During busy season everyone was very busy, there always work to be getting on with. However at the start/end periods of the internship there were a lot of boring days clock watching with not much to do.
I was impressed with the responsibility given to me from day one. Before the internship started I was concerned I was going to spend 6 months as a glorified coffee/photocopier/errand boy but you are treated the same as the graduates. Some managers were really good at pushing you to take on more responsibility as well, taking on more complicated work etc.
Very useful as part of my degree is accounting.
The Company
Quite relaxed and social, people were generally quite chatty and jokey.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I got offered a full time position after completing the internship.
The Culture
I was the only intern in the Birmingham office, which I was a bit disappointed at. 75% of the interns were in London and they had a great time by the sounds of it - if you can, I would recommend doing your internship in London over a regional office.
Average really, city prices but nothing OTT
Birmingham is great for going out
