The Role
It was a really good experience - was on the GAP Programme working in private sector audit for 6 months
Was given plenty of responsibility, felt like my work was valued
Support and guidance provided was excellent
There was definitely enough work to do every day, the only slightly boring times were when I was not booked to any specific jobs, which was quite uncommon
As mentioned, felt valued
Learned a lot about how businesses operate, how to work through trial balances/p&l sheets
The Company
Regional office, so was a bit quieter
Was fairly well organised, but the GAP joiners joined the office about 3 weeks after all the other new joiners and after the new joiner social, so felt it would have been better if the start date had been the same and could get to know more people
Fair amount of training, quite an intensive one-week course before properly starting work
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
The atmosphere is great, all the people are really lovely
The Culture
It was okay
Fairly cheap, as was in a regional office
Quite a big city so great nightlife
Fair amount of time given to each employee for CSR (volunteering etc)
