The Role
Have had a really good year at golfbreaks.com. The people that worked at golfbreaks were easy to get along with and made you feel very welcome.
There was always an opportunity to take on more responsibility within your role, there was never any doubt from colleagues that you could not do your job. when you had done something good there was always praise.
if there was ever an area where you struggled a manager or member of the team would be there to help and solve the issue with you.
throughout my placement I was always busy. there was never a day when i could say i had nothing to do.
there was always an opportunity to take on more responsibility. certain roles that i had been given required great responsibilty.
I have learnt a lot of new skills this year, and will take them away from golfbreaks.com to build upon in the future. nothing I learnt was a waste of time and every skill is of value to me.
The Company
From the day i started my placement was organised. I had a lot of independent work which I was required to organise myself, but that helped with organisation skills.
I had book keeping sessions to improve my basic finance skills once a month. this helped in my day to day work and will help next year when i return to university.
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
If asked to return to work for golfbreaks, i would definately take that opportunity.
The Culture
Most of the students lived together or near the company. we all got on very well with each other and we always socialised outside of golfbreaks.
Windsor is quite an expensive area so going out wasnt that cheap but there were ways around and ways to save money.
the nightlife was quite good. not anything like university life at is it not a big city but there are a few clubs and some really good bars to go to.
We went on familiarisation trips once every three months which aided us to get to know each other better. the students usually made plans of their own outside of work as there was so many of us.
