The Role
My internship scheme was thoroughly enjoyable. The atmosphere in the office was friendly and the tasks which I was given were challenging and engaging.
My colleagues during the scheme were extremely helpful and patient, taking time to introduce me to various aspects of the company. Further to this I was provided with feedback throughout the scheme which was excellent for development.
My supervisor was very approachable and would provide advice and feedback consistently.
I was provided with individual projects, as well a working on a joint internship project throughout the scheme. There projects kept me engaged through my 8 weeks at Hiscox.
Hiscox emphasised that they liked their interns to use their initiative and to offer their own opinions With each of my projects I was asked to present them to the team which I was working in, and was expected to provide new ideas/insights.
Throughout the scheme I was given training in powerpoint, excel and presentation skills. These workshops were invaluable and definitely aided my development.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was very friendly and had working. In felt the the Human Resources department, which I was based in, was particularly friendly and helpful.
I felt that the internship was very well organised. In the short time that I had with Hiscox I felt that I was given a lot of responsibility and projects, yet never felt I had too much on my plate.
We were given Excel, Powerpoint and Presentation training, with the firm investing both time and money into the interns. All the training given was of a high standard and was useful and applicable to both the internship and the future professional careers of the interns.

Company Parties/Events
Hiscox offer a fantastic Graduate scheme, with the internship providing the perfect opportunity to discover what graduate work at the company involves.
The Culture
The other interns on the scheme were great, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. We would regularly meet up for drinks are work and meet daily for lunch.
The bars around the office are pretty expensive, although their are plenty of good, cheap places to grab lunch as well as the in-house Art Cafe.
A fair few pubs and bars in the surrounding area.
Not a huge amount of opportunities for activities
