About You
I do enjoy the insight, for I meet new peers and enjoyed talking with BOE current employees from various backgrounds and departments.
Quite few opportunities of meeting more senior people, seems it is hierarchical. But most employees do enjoy working at BOE, and find the bank offer great career development opportunities, life/work balance and benefits.
Good introduction on the Central Bank duties/department/organisational structure, which is very good and in-depth. General guidance on job application, and this part is not particularly attractive for the information was no big difference from that given by college career service.
The information about BOE itself is good, and experiences of some employees are helpful, but the career advice is generic.
The Company
The business game took too much time and was not as good as it stated, but the introduction, discussion and networking parts are all good.
Though the schedule was a bit tight, the atmosphere was always friendly and casual. Everyone was helpful.
It's just a one day insight so this question does not apply, yet according to current employees BOE does invest and support employees very well, providing different options on career choices and further trainings.
I have already applied for BOE next year graduate entry, it is attractive to me.
They introduced their organisational structure, departments and general duties to us, and through talking to current employees I get some further understanding of general culture/atmosphere of BOE.
The insight day offers me another option when considering career path.
Everything Else
It's just a one-day insight, and I spent nothing.
Yes.
It is great meeting employees from various backgrounds, and it would be brilliant if the networking part could be longer.
According to the employees they have a very good work/life balance and can receive great supports from BOE in terms of further career/academic development as well as social activities.
It is a great opportunity of understanding UK's central bank, meeting new people and developing some career skills, I'd love to recommend this to my friends.
