The Role
I was given a lot of responsibility early on, partly due to a good manager, and was allowed to prove myself. I was allowed to get involved with projects far beyond my ability or experience and quickly learnt to keep up.
At no point was I seen as a Student - rather a key member of the team.
I was often left to my own devices, but if you like being micro-managed and having your hand held CSC is not the place for you.
I can honestly say I was not bored at any point on my placement. In fact I often had too much work on.
I was given sole responsibility for 10+ Trusts after 3 months. I attended (external) meetings on my own, liaised with clients and set my own workload and priorities.
The 'soft' skills I have picked up and developed will be invaluable in any line of work.
The Company
People generally keep themselves to themselves, and I did not have much face-to-face time with my team as we were geographically dispersed. However I never felt lonely and help was always only a phonecall or email away.
I had a very good manager who placed faith in me early on, which really helped. The recruitment team are always available to help.
Paid for training courses and material, expenses, visits to Trusts, presentations. Regular lectures and talks from external and internal people. Online training provided and encouraged.

Working from home
I have a job waiting for when I graduate.
The Culture
We all knew each other and got along very well.
Hampshire is generally quite expensive for rent. Further North will be cheaper.
Guildford is good for pubs and restaurants. Aldershot is quite rough - I would not recommend going out there.
