About You
Despite the limited time with the team, I was given tasks on various jobs, attended meetings with senior engineers and even wrote an entire report under my name.
The team welcomed me warmly and made me feel comfortable from day 1.
Engineers around me were taking time to answer my questions and help me further my understanding.
The 4 week placement provided a good insight on the work of the geotechnical team and what consulting is about.
The Company
I was given new tasks from senior engineers every one or two days depending on workload. It allowed me to have a good insight on several aspects of the job.
Very friendly and helpful team. It was a real pleasure working alongside them for a month.
The short duration of the placement did not lend itself for any specific personal training and development.
I was able to see what it was like to be a senior engineer on a daily basis.
Attended the company annual review given by the directors.
It made me realize that I would like to carry on with a career in consulting.
Everything Else
Remunerated at £8.51/hour
Again the short duration of the placement did not lend itself for this criteria.

Yoga, squash... We were even going for cycle rides over lunchtime, showered and back at work at 1pm sharp!
I would definitely recommend Arup to anybody.
