The Role
I was welcomed by a wide range of people throughout the bank. There was also a scheme to meet with several MDs and Directors across the bank. No matter what level the employees were at they always made you feel valued and an important part of the bank.
I was given a huge amount of support from my line manager throughout the placement, I sat right next to my line manager and was offered support and guidance whenever I asked. The line manager also actively worked to help me learn.
I had one major deliverable to complete and there were several smaller projects to keep me busy.
Although my work was going to be used by the bank in the future the work was not important in the grand scheme of things.
It was unrelated to my degree but was a perfect set up for when I start working.
The Company
Generally very relaxed, people just got on with there work most of the time.
Really well organised, HR put on several events which worked into our work schedules.
My line manager really focused on helping me learn.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
I received an offer after the placement. It is a fast growing bank with great people. I'm looking forward to going back after University.
The Culture
The graduates and more social teams involved me in the evening drinks. There were a few social events put on by HR but these weren't that great. Many fellow students also went out for drinks regularly after work.
It's London, what can you expect
Located in Canary Wharf, there were afterwork drinks but to go out you had to commute into the city.
A few sporting events.
