The Role
The ethos of the company is very much tailored to educating its employees. Every intern is given a mentor who has time specifically allocated to ensuring that he/she is progressing.
I was given a project to do, in which I was given complete freedom in deciding how I chose to meet the specification.
This was my third internship at Metaswitch; I've come out with strong programming skills in Python, Java and the ability to design a website
The Company
The atmosphere was very relaxed, with flexible working hours and a generally friendly atmosphere.
Communication was always great and the organisation was flawless.
Every intern has a mentor specifically assigned to them. At the beginning of the internship, I was given a set of learning objectives for the duration, which my mentor ensured that I met.

Company Parties/Events
All interns who do well in their internship automatically get through the first stage of the interview process. Many get jobs.
The Culture
For those living in the company houses, there was a broad social scene. This was much less for those who commuted.
There are many lunchtime activities ranging from sports to board games.
