    • The ethos of the company is very much tailored to educating its employees. Every intern is given a mentor who has time specifically allocated to ensuring that he/she is progressing.

    • I was given a project to do, in which I was given complete freedom in deciding how I chose to meet the specification.

    • This was my third internship at Metaswitch; I've come out with strong programming skills in Python, Java and the ability to design a website

    • The atmosphere was very relaxed, with flexible working hours and a generally friendly atmosphere.

    • Communication was always great and the organisation was flawless.

    • Every intern has a mentor specifically assigned to them. At the beginning of the internship, I was given a set of learning objectives for the duration, which my mentor ensured that I met.

    • All interns who do well in their internship automatically get through the first stage of the interview process. Many get jobs.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • For those living in the company houses, there was a broad social scene. This was much less for those who commuted.

    • There are many lunchtime activities ranging from sports to board games.
