The Role
I just love the people and the support I've been getting. I got to shoulder a lot of responsibilities even though I was a complete starter in this area.
They were willing to devote a lot of time in answering my questions and explaining to me what they did. We also spent time sharing our personal interests, and they offered me advices on how to do well in my career.
We spoke everyday and he kept an eye on the progress of my work. He understood my difficulties and explained things very patiently and clearly to me. He also gave me reminders such as talking to more people on the desk rather than focusing on my work, or using clearer formatting in my emails to the team.
I had enough things to do to keep me content and motivated, at the same time I had one to two hours per day to talk to different people over a cup of coffee. The work I was given was non-repetitive and interesting.
I got to craft a lot of emails explaining to the team the work I had done. The most exciting thing was that I saw my work making contribution to the whole team! Though much part of my work came from the help of my line manager and my colleagues, they let me take up the credit and trusted me in presenting results to the team.
Great skills I had picked up during the internship: How to write business letters; how to analyse a financial event; how to properly network with people; how to work with difficult tasks; how to seek and offer help... and not to mention all the basic understandings and knowledge I have gained in the market.
The Company
Everyone was the efficient and straight-forward and I enjoyed that atmosphere so much!
Great planning with the right mix of professional and social events. I got to meet a few people from higher ranks, and I learnt really a lot from them. Plenty opportunities were given to mix with other interns, which was definitely invaluable in developing my network.
The internship programme allowed me to benefit from the time devoted by some really senior people. But mostly I love my team who just gave me any support whenever I sought one.
Company Parties/Events
Love the people, the ambience!
The Culture
Yes. The atmosphere among fellow interns was really supportive, as opposed to being competitive.
You could always grab a beer or a coffee around the corner of the building at less than £5.
Scenic drinking places available.
If drinking and bowling with the team counted as activities outside of work, yes!
