The Role
My job role was perfect for my skill set. I was able to be technical whilst keeping high level and using my project management skills.
The team that I worked with along with all other partner teams were fantastic. They were the most intelligent and 'happy to help' people I have ever met
I had weekly one on one meetings with my direct manager as well as various levels of management to make sure I was completing training and making progress on extremely interesting projects. If I ever had an issue my manager was fantastic at helping me sort it
I was busy every day and I worked very hard. However this is exactly what I wanted I love working on a variety of projects and having the responsibility of owning parts of these
Throughout the year my responsibility on projects was ramped up until towards the end of my placement I was the main point of contact for a new feature!
Having been in a technical working environment for a year I have build on skills as well as obtaining new ones. I feel fairly confident applying for graduate roles and I also feel that my work ethic has continued into my degree studies as well as the ability to take any project I am given, research it and then tackle the problem.
The Company
The office was an open environment which was easy to confer with people on your team. We had team building and social events. As well as celebrating birthdays and people arriving and leaving. Also the inclusion of a games room was definitely a pro for people to unwind and then get back to enjoying work
The setup was great, I enjoyed my role and I got the chance to get involved with activities outside my role. There was always communication between interns and graduates as well as the university staffing team
We had the chance to take many specific qualifications as well as job based specific training. I would say for my role the on the job learning was key and the team allowing me to get stuck in to all projects meant my role became apparent very quickly
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Hoping to return to return to the company. Going through the final process at the moment!
The Culture
I enjoyed the social events that we went on, whether this was a big organised event or a few cocktails at a local bar after work. It was always great to get to know people outside of work
Living in central London on an intern salary was always going to be hard, however I made the most of the attractions and socialising to the extent that I could afford
A night out in London is incredible!
There was always extra activities I got involved in, both volunteering and socialising with my team, the other interns etc.
