The Role
Very varied, fast-paced and great people.
I had a fantastic line manager who was sensitive to my strengths and weaknesses and helped tailor my experience during the placement.
Literally everyone was happy to meet, even if it was only for a short time and all were happy to privde advice
Most days pretty hectic, but a mix of meetings and desk work, with occasional time to grab a coffee and catch up.
I was given a lot of responsibility (my own projects to run) and even helped coach a colleague on presentation-giving after receiving some training as part of the internship.
The skills I gained in relation to time management, negotiating, dealing with people and leadership with be inherently useful in my degree and beyond.
The Company
Great! I was on a really buzzing floor (other floors were a bit mellower) but people were happy and sociable.
Brilliant organisation that has taken feedback from previous years to improve the experience. Intensive training at the start was really useful and the interns project was executed perfectly.
We had 3 days of intensive training specific to interns at the beginning of the placement, with session throughout the internship.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Healthcare from home
I got a graduate offer as a direct result of my performance on the internship - sorted.
The Culture
A great atmosphere with other interns and graduates too.
Canary Wharf/Mayfair/Central London so pricey as expected.
Canary Wharf is nice for evening drinks during the week but a ghost town at weekends. However in London it's not difficult to get to somewhere better.
Yes, a great selection of sports and other networks, I joined the running club and loved it.
