The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Mayer Brown. The two week placement was very well run and everyone from trainees to partners made you feel very welcome. The day trip to Brussels as part of the scheme was very enjoyable, and offered the opportunity to get to know the other interns.
All those I worked with were very grateful for the efforts I put into the work I completed.
The supervising associates I sat with in each department were very supportive and provided lots of guidance on the tasks I was undertaking. The graduate recruitment team were also in regular contact with the trainees and offered lots of support throughout the two-week placement.
There was a good balance between working hard in the office and attending various regular social events with trainees, associates, partners and various interns.
There was lots of freedom to approach any trainees, associates or partners as you carried out your assigned tasks. Everyone was very welcoming and willing to provide you with any help they could.
The opportunity to work closely on various corporate deals offered an invaluable insight into the day-to-day tasks of a trainee solicitor.
The Company
Everyone was very relaxed and sociable.
The placement was very well organised, including a trip to Brussels, various social events and a supportive trainee "buddy" to offer support throughout the placement.
Mayer Brown put lots of time and effort into providing all interns with an informative and enjoyable work placement.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
After completing an interview at the end of the work placement I was very pleased to accept an offer to train with the firm.
The Culture
The trip to Brussels and various lunch and drinks events provided numerous opportunities to get to know fellow interns and other trainees, associates and partners at the firm.
During my time at Mayer Brown I was able to play football with associates at the nearby football pitches, and was provided lots of information on the various pro bono activities the firm is involved with.
