The Role
My placement helped me to learn that I would not like to work in this role or with this company.
All the office people made me feel very valued and like part of the team. If I had been given more to do I would have felt even more valued.
A change in management throughout my placement meant this was difficult at times.
Some days very busy, others lacking things to do. I was often sent out food shopping which meant took up a lot of the day.
Towards the beginning I was given data to analyse that was not contributing to anything. Later on when new people joined the team I was given useful things to do that contributed towards customer presentations.
Gained range of skills in office admin, finance, tasting and learn a lot about factory processing
The Company
The office people were friendly and chatty which was enjoyable. It was a small office so everyone knew each other. We all had lunch together.
My role was ever changing due to changes in management. I feel it could have been better organised with having my role planned more so that I would understand what jobs I was expected to do.
I didn't go on any training courses whilst on placement as none were offered. I had two reviews whilst on placement as part of my University requirements.
I will not be applying to work here in the future as there are no roles I would be interested in here.
The Culture
I went out with the office team for meals after work. There was a charity quiz evening. Most people lived near to work so it was easy to arrange things.
Reasonable for the area. I lived just outside the centre of Leicester.
Reasonable with a range of good places to go. I lived near to the centre of Leicester so it was easy to go out in evenings.
There were things you could get involved in if you wanted to outside of work.
