The Role
It was my first properly paid job, so it was very important to me. I like the firm and culture, but not much about the nature of work.
Colleagues around were all very supportive.
My supervisor for every assignment gave me detailed guidance and were always ready to answer any questions.
During summer the workload was relatively light, typical 9-5.
The amount of responsibility I was given increased over time. By the end of internship, I was able to independently take charge of 2 sections of substantive tests.
I developed communication and teamwork skills, which will be very useful for my future endeavours.
The Company
Relaxed and sometimes fun.
It was quite well organised because on my first day I already knew what I was going to do in the next 6 weeks.
As an intern I did not receive much formal training from the company.
If you like accounting, then this is the ideal place.
The Culture
We had a couple of social activities with colleagues, one of which was organised by my department.
Birmingham is a relatively cheap place to live.
Around the area I worked there was no place for nightlife.
Not many.
