The Role
Danone is an amazing company to work for with so many opportunities outside the role profile. This includes geeting involved in volunteering at events such as the Dannone Nations Cup to becoming an employee rep for your team to put forward ideas and thoughts of how to improve the working environment. There are various sports teams and activities to get invoved in to meet people from across the business all funded by Danone.
I was immediately made to feel part of the team - everyone is lovely and I think the people are one of the best things about Danone, the environment is relatively informal where you can stop the MD in the corridor and have a chat about their weekend, which I think is great. Everyone is willing to help, have great ideas and have fun together both inside and outside of the office.
I was mainly taught by the placement before me and recieved little mentoring from my line manager. It would also help to have more 1:1 meetings to discuss progress and career progression.
I joined the Waters division in the midst of one of the hottest summers in 250 years and had to learn extremely quickly and was insanely busy for a good 2 months but so was everyone in the business. Everyone pulled together and supported each other so it wasn't too daunting. As it has quietened down I have got involved in numerous projects and this has kept me busy and interested.
From day 1 I was given reponsibility and really learnt on the job. As the placement progressed and I became more comfortable with the day to day work I was again given more responsibility. This was done gradually and I never felt overwhelmed or under pressure
I had already graduated when I started this placement but the skills and experience from this placement will be invaluable for my future career. I would love to continue working for Danone in the future.
The Company
The Waters division isn't that big and we are all on the same floor which is great. Everyone's working very hard but up for a chat, laugh and a game of table football. Company events are organised like a haloween party where most of the organisation attended and made loads of effort.
The placement is more like a job, the role is very clearly defined with scope to take on more if you want.
When I wanted to improve a certain skill then a course or project would be organised where I could use and improve that skill in a work situation. Well being of employees is very important to Danone with visits from occupational nurses, free massages and benefits for doing something heathly.

Lunches, after work drinks!
Living in London is always going to be expensive!
There were a couple of nice pubs were we could go for a team drink after work.
The volunteering opportunities and sporting opportunities are endless.
