The Role
The work was challenging but interesting.
I felt like the work that I was doing was important to my team, and would help make their lives easier in the future.
Whenever I got stuck my supervisor was there to help me.
Although I didn't have many meetings, I always had code to be writing.
My project was useful and will make a difference to the productivity of the team, but it wasn't anything mission critical.
During the internship there was a huge amount of opportunity to develop skills that will be useful in my degree and later life. A variety of training sessions, videos, and genuinely interesting work contributed to this.
The Company
There is a very lively atmosphere in the office, focusing around a central hub full of free food.
The placement ran smoothly, with well place feed back and events.
There was a large number of training opportunities.
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I think it a great place to work, with plenty of opportunity.
The Culture
The social side was excellent. You could usually find the R&D interns in the Flying Horse after work.
Central London is bound to be more expensive than other areas. Rent is definitely high. I was surprised however that food tended to be fairly cheap, it was very easy to find lunch for less than £5 near to the office.
If you want to go clubbing, you're in central London - there is a huge variety of club and bars, from grotty dives, to places where it would be hard not to spend £300 in a night.
During the internship there was a volunteering trip organised to help paint and decorate a local YMCA. There was also salsa, and a variety of sports on during the week,
