The Role
Whilst at times the work was very enjoyable, the department I was working was very quiet in terms of their workload.
I got on really well with people in the department whilst working with different teams of colleagues throughout the summer
My manager provided a lot of support whenever necessary in order to help me to think about areas to improve for the future and also what style of work might be right for me.
In general the department was fairly quiet over the summer so whilst I often didn't have a lot to do it wasn't just because I was an intern there - the more free times were opportunities to develop knowledge by attending seminars/completing courses.
I was given a reasonable amount when appropriate
Technical knowledge from training that I received will be both useful to my degree and future career.
The Company
The department was quite fun, I went for drinks with colleagues on occasion
There are regular seminars which employees can attend and a suite of elearning modules
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
The Culture
The offices are at canary wharf so it is expensive
There are lots of bars around the offices
There were charity days and then a sports and social club organising events such as vodka and wine tastings.
