The Role
Linklaters as a firm really knows how to sell itself - I am leaving feeling confident that this firm will be my first choice for training.
Everyone has been helpful and supportive - staff right up to partner level take the time to talk to you and get to know you.
The Graduate Recruitment team were always on hand to help us out.
We were kept busy with plenty of events and interesting work, but we were never expected to stay at work beyond 5.30 - unless we wanted to. The firm recognises that this is about giving us an enjoyable and insightful experience, rather than using us as slave labour!
I was given real trainee work, with the guidance of my principals.
I am sure that the skills I have acquired during the scheme will prove very useful, both in the final year of my degree (to come), my LPC and during my future career. I have had a great time and learned a lot about myself!
The Company
Can't beat two socials a week (cocktail making classes, anyone?) and Friday afternoon drinks trollies in every department!
Everything was fully prepared for us - any last minute changes were notified and we were kept informed.
We enjoyed training on several different topics (20 or more sessions during the month!)
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
Future prospects are very appealing - but have to wait and see whether I will clinch the coveted TC offer!
The Culture
Great - everyone is really friendly - when a social wasn't arranged, we always went out for drinks. We also met up every weekend.
It is quite expensive, but the amenities are fantastic, so it's worth it.
