The Role
I really enjoyed my year at EY, there was so much to get involved with and the work was really varied and interesting.
I felt very valued and received some great feedback from my team and senior management.
My team was always supportive and was always willing to help when I had a question.
In a management accounting role there are busy periods such as month-end, forecasts and budgeting. During these periods it was very busy and I was working longer hours outside the typical 9 till 5. I did not mind the longer hours as I gained great exposure working in a finance role but have to mark it down due to the question format
I had a huge amount of responsibility such as delivering several quarterly forecasts and the FY14 budget.
The skills I have gained at EY will definitely be used in my future career.
The Company
Open planned and friendly.
Everything was organised properly. Accommodation was provided by the company.
Nearly all training was on the job-training. There was also some 'career breakfasts' and 'lunch and learns' which were really insightful.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Unfortunately their is not a finance graduate scheme in the UK. However their is the possibility to come back on the MACH scheme.
The Culture
Lots of interns to socialise with.
Leeds is fairly good value if you are used to London prices.
Lots of bars and clubs in Leeds.
Quite a few opportunities to get involved with. There were some sports activities tho.
