The Role
Really enjoyed it as a placement, pushed me in the right areas that needed improving.
I did not feel like a trainee but was treated with a lot of respect. I was on par with everyone in the organisation and that boosted my morale
I did receive a lot of guidance initially when it was most needed, thereafter I was also given space to work and grow.
Peaks and troughs in workload means on average, there is the right balance
I was in charge of $1000s each quarter and was in charge of multiple large multinational corporation.
The analytical skills and problem solving abilities that I developed on the job along with ability to prepare detailed future plans would definitely help in any job in future
The Company
Everyone was very sociable and team lunches meant everyone spent time together however there were quite a few times when a lot of colleagues were out of office.
Generally, was very well set up and organised however there were times when we were 'expected' to be aware of Intel terminology and systems without introductions.
There is a lot of mandatory training within the first 3 months, though it does take a long time, it is very useful. The mixture of practical sessions and online sessions was beneficial in workload.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I have built a good network and believe I can approach them in future for employment
The Culture
We did a wide range of social activities, celebrated birthdays, trips to cities, parks, Cheltenham Lido.
Swindon is a cheap town to live in compared to most and also because it isn't a city and doesn’t have a university here. Rent was very reasonable and food prices average.
Not too many options in Swindon itself and if you traveled farther options were more expensive and for older age group
Many occasions were celebrated every few days like group birthdays and get together. But depends on the your immediate team
