The Role
Good support, very well organised and beneficial to my personal and professional development. Helped me decide on a career direction.
Teachers were very busy, but there were quite a few occasions where teachers said they appreciated my presence in the classroom.
Very good support, can't fault it.
Never was I overloaded with work, and given enough guidance and help to meet the requirements of the placement.
I was responsible for arranging my own lessons and for arranging my AimHigher requirement of the scheme.
I acquired good organisational skills. Had to balance the placement with my university workload.
The Company
Just about right. Teachers sometimes very stressed, extremely busy so never really relaxed.
The Head of English had a timetable ready for me for when I arrived, and made sure that I was briefed on everything.
I received a £600 bursary for taking part in the placement, and very good support throughout.
Good opportunities to continue training, PGCE. Student Associate Scheme excellent experience that could get me on to the course.
The Culture
No other placement students when I was there, and staff really didn't have time to have a social life because they were too busy.
It was ok.
It was in a residential area.
No such opportunities.
