The Role
Rotational aspect of internship made for broad overall experience
Employees have a lot of time for interns and are never rude or unhelpful
Each intern is assigned a Buddy (1st/2nd year analyst) and a Dean (executive director) who are available to offer advice and support whenever needed
They really push you on the internship and it is up to you to pro-actively seek out work for different desks
It's hard to be given real responsibility for S&T as you are not able to talk to clients/trade but there are plenty of projects that you are given to complete, which will be assessed by a large number of business employees
Builds on finance knowledge and environment really sharpens you up
The Company
There is a lot of humour on the trading floor but it is equally intense when it gets down to business
Programme itself is set up and run really very well. There is also heavy involvement from senior management in the construction of the programme. On boarding communication could definitely be improved though
There is a week training to bring everyone up to the same level, which is run extremely well. If you get a place on the graduate programme then the form also supports the CFA qualification.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Excellent place to work for with great culture and working environment
The Culture
Everyone is extremely busy so the intern group could have definitely mixed more
Inherently expensive area and socialising environment
Night life was great but it depends what you want.
Internship requires you to complete two non work related tasks and raise money for charity. There is also sports you can get involved with if you have the time
