The Role
Very good experience. Everything was well organised, from my interviews to my move in UK The project was very interesting and rewarding
the people you work with (colleagues, managers) are very mindful. They gave me credit and were very supportive for my project
Manager very present and available for his team. After you need to be independent, make decision and dare to ask people. The managers have other projects and team members to take care of.
Good balance. never too busy or bored. Sometimes you have more work sometime it is more quite but Schlumberger always makes sure to make you busy
At the beginning they guide you to make sure you are comfortable enough. But if you show that you are willing to. They trust you and give you the opportunity to lead your project, to make suggestions, to take initiatives.
The training program within Schlumberger is very wide. You learn a lot during this internship, about the oilfield industry, about the technical aspect about the management aspect...
The Company
Very good atmosphere with colleague from all over the world. flexible schedule, as long as you are doing your hours/ you job you can arrange your time as you prefer. No pressure on that side The fact to work in open space make necessary to still keep a quite environment
very well orgnised. HR team very present and helpfull
interesting training. possibility to attend events such as "lunch and learn" or "workshop"
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
the company makes sure to make a plan with you and see what are the opportunity available for you during quarterly reviews. Career plan was discuss 3 months after i started, interviews was set after 5 months of internship and the offer came the month after. Even if it depend on your manager, the company structure make everything to support that process
The Culture
Good atmosphere, mainly linked to the diversity and the important number of employees which allow to meet very different people.
My work is located quite far from the city i live (it is your choice). the area where my work is located must be quite affordable but the live there is very quite. whereas the city i live is more expensive and you need to commute every day 40 min drive. But whatever you decide the salary offered by Schlumberger cover all the fees you can have, social life included.
the town where my work is, has no real nightclub or bars. But the city I lived: Bristol, is perfect.
Sure, Bristol is a big city offering plenty of activities.
