The Role
AkzoNobel is a great company to work for. the staff is very helpful and they make you feel comfortable. your experience at a placement depends massive on what kind of manager you have . I was fortunate to have a good manager who was very patient, supportive and encouraging.
The team really made me feel like a normal employee. Everyone was very friendly and nice.
I had an amazing manager who was very helpful . but a persons experience might vary based on what kind of manager they have. But overall i found senior member of the company to be very interested in the development of young individuals .
The work load was fairly consistent. i have had days were ive worked long hours. but it was overall it was fine .
not enough . I didnt get much exposure to project management and i was doing what i was told to do most of the time . so i would have liked to be given more responsibilities
well it was an amazing experience and ive learned how to behave in a professional environment and the thing you need to be aware of when working for a company .
The Company
the environment was really friendly but obviously at the end of the day everyone is there to work so overall it was fairly relaxed.
i worked on a single project throughout my placement. the placement was fairly organised although i didnt have a laptop for a month and that was very annoying. and it took a month or so for my project to properly kick off .
As a student, you do get alot of health , safety , diversity and equipment trainings and i had a personal mentor aswell and the company in general invest alot on its employees so overall it was excellent
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I would love to go back
The Culture
its average . you can expect to spend from 250 - 500 pounds a month on accommodation alone and the rest depends on your life style
